Thankful v27

Lately I've been thankful... 

[+] for my patients and the care I'm able to provide them, sometimes in their darkest hours

[+] for extra time with my gang even if it means sacrificing hours of sleep

[+] for sweet conversations between brothers who are proving that 18mo age gaps really are worth it

[+] for neighbors who love our kiddos like their own and the community that creates

[+] for a brown eyed boy who kisses me on the lips "always three times"

[+] for a blue eyed boy who snuggles and loves and pats your back in a hug

[+] for coffee; fresh brewed, iced, lattes, Americanos and any other form

[+] for the opportunity to miss my boys making me grateful for all the little things

[+] for slow mornings, hot showers and sneaking in extra naps even at work

[+] for glimpses of summer time and the feeling of warm sun on our skin

[+] for the upcoming end to intern year and all the ease and change it will bring

[+] for boys who yell "love you, have a good day!!" at the top of their lungs as I'm driving away

[+] for feeling like myself, not caring what other people think and not wearing makeup ;-)

Thankful v26

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for our own "teacher gram" and her creative activities

[+] for one boy who's food driven and one who's rule driven (most of the time)

[+] for dark nails and dark chocolate mochas as a mini celebration 

[+] for the second half of intern year and the freedom and fear that includes 

[+] for amazing neighbors who lean on us and who do the same for us

[+] for delivering babies and then kissing mine 

[+] visits from my guy gang on endless weekend shifts

[+] for my smarty pants biggest even if he outwits me more than I'd like

[+] for my littlest love who's always down for 'nuggles with momma

[+] for language explosions even if it means attitudes that go with it 

[+] for reasons to see family both big and small 

[+] for brother naps that overlap for moments of peace for all through the day

[+] for the smell of sweet toddlers clean from a "splashin' bath"

Thankful v25

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for litte brothers who are growing by the minute

[+] for brothers who are so different and yet so much alike even down to their cheesy grins

[+] for big brothers who are sweet & sour at the exact same time

[+] for home improvement projects & lots of hard work 

[+] for the best of family who's supportive, encouraging & always there

[+] for things that used to feel mundane that I took for granted before 

[+] for yummy snacks even if there's sometimes a battle for the last bite

[+] for compliments & encouragement & getting in the groove

[+] for a coffee cart in the hospital where the barista knows my name 

[+] for a house that feels so much like home and is more than we could have ever imagined 

[+] for wild imaginations that turn piles of laundry into "fancy beds"

[+] for brother hugs, sharing popsicles, holding hands & melting my heart

[+] for sweet little voices that recite our favorite books line by line

Thankful v24

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for strong-willed toddlers even if they push my buttons daily 

[+] for quick healing & an overall healthy month which is saying something

[+] for my little sidekicks who are seriously the best boys this momma could dream of

[+] for boxes & packing tape & eagerly anticipating our brand new house

[+] for wrinkled noses, warm summer nights & pink ice-cream to share

[+] for overlapping nap times, three sleeping guys & some momma alone time

[+] for late night kisses that smell like sunscreen, sweat & ketchup 

[+] for memories in the form of pictures that I'll cherish for the rest of my life

[+] for some of the most thoughtful & amazingly handmade gifts I've ever received

[+] for 6 weeks at home being "momma" before residency calls me to be "doctor"

[+] for new found independence even if it is a little unsteady sometimes 

[+] for growing little monkeys even if it means tendonitis for momma

[+] for having two sons who are turning into the best of friends 

2017 is turning out to be one heck of a year!

Thankful v23

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for the way this one looks at me and only me

[+] for firsts and lasts, upcoming changes and steady constants

[+] for the moments of sweet, cuddly toddler amongst the many moments of sour

[+] for brother bonds that are just starting to blossom 

[+] for going through life and all it's stages with my girl-tribe

[+] for medicine, it's miracles and it's teachings

[+] for a toddler who's never short on personality and makes me laugh daily 

[+] for time away as "me" time even though it's truly been too long

[+] for pictures and updates from Nani of my two little boys

[+] for glasses of wine, dark beers and whiskey smashes

[+] for nighttime routines I've always dreamed of creating 

It's been far too long since I've taken the time to embrace the simple little things.
Here's to hoping I can be better moving forward. 

Thankful v22

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for babies who look almost exactly like their big brothers

[+] for a blue eyed and a brown eyed boy to help me tell their baby pictures apart

[+] for toddlers who are independent and so smart it's often scary

[+] for hearing "I love you" from the smallest of lips as I head out the door

[+] for a baby who snuggles when his big brother never did 

[+] for messes because they teach me to let go

[+] for new milestones even if I beg time to slow down on a daily basis

[+] for getting to experience the daily joys when I know I won't always be able to

[+] for forecasted warm weather on the horizon and the goodness of vitamin D

[+] for family get-togethers and any reason to celebrate

[+] for change, even if it's just in the form of a haircut

[+] for patience... with myself, from our pup, in all ways 

[+] for bonds that are greater than I could have ever imagined 

Thankful v21

Lately I've been thankful...

[+] for adult beverages after 37+ weeks without them

[+] for time off that literally felt like a vacation with my new family

[+] for amazing dad's and their sweet boy bonds

[+] for cul-de-sacs, kid energy and a husband who's always willing to play

[+] for sunshine on our skin, less jaundice and more vitamin D

[+] for a toddler who's smart and stubborn, independent and wild, sweet and cranky

[+] for healthy kiddos who are literally never at the doctors 

[+] for brothers, even if they don't seem to understand yet

[+] for moments of kindness and sharing amidst the hitting and squishing 

[+] for being a boy momma and confidently saying it's perfect for me

[+] for two boys in the same outfit less than two years apart

[+] for success breastfeeding the second go-around and being so much less stressed

[+] for someone putting on weight and someone losing it

[+] for the generosity of friends giving our baby something of his own

[+] for warmer weather, bare feet and sunlight in the evenings

It's been a while since I've written one of these posts but that doesn't mean my life doesn't have plenty of reasons to be thankful for. In fact it probably means I'm overflowing with gratefulness!

Thankful v20

Lately I've been thankful... 

[+] for walls filled with memories that can't be replaced

[+] for a warm house, good food and the ability to provide for our kiddos

[+] for wearing some dress clothes for the last time in a while

[+] for occasionally getting an answer right and feeling like a rockstar 

[+] for shenanigans, easy entertainment and lots of love 

[+] for a house decorated for the season and the start of new traditions

[+] for sharing a meal with those we hold close

[+] for running hugs and snotty, slobbery kisses

[+] for sharing mini scones even if it means I end up hungry

[+] for modern medicine to protect myself and the babe in my belly

[+] for lots of snuggles and eyelashes that tickle my skin

[+] for new "firsts" even if they turn my baby boy even more into a little kid

[+] for sunrises at the end of night shifts
